Hello DECEMBER, Hello SCHOOL HOLIDAYS!

School holidays brings slower mornings, playdates, adventures and kids who morph into hungry hippos protesting at the fridge door that there isn’t anything to eat.

They often create a shift in our routines and a juggle logistically.

As our December days will naturally fill with planning, preparations, parties and trips, our hope is for you to not only survive but THRIVE these holidays.

Here are our 5 tips for a healthy and of course FUN holiday that can be easily incorporated into your day without adding more.

  1. 1 minute gratitude journal. You choose if this fits your wakeup or bedtime routine. Reflect and write down 5 things that you’re thankful for. This simple, yet powerful, practice will will keep you grounded and your mind focused – not on what you still need to get, but on all that you’ve already been given.

  2. Protect nap and rest times for little and big people. Holidays tends to be jam-packed, but it is important we don’t skimp on sleep throughout this period. Sleep helps our body rest, restore and recover. Ask your body what rest it needs and do that!

  3. Swap your evening shower for a bath. Sprinkle epsom salts and essential oilsinto the tub to detoxify your body, soothe tired muscles (and mind!). Light a candle and lock the door – you deserve some much needed “me” time during the hustle of the season!

  4. Hot summer days means that our bodies need more water than usual. Staying hydrated can help increase your energy levels! Add sparkling water and water rich foods like watermelon, cucumber, lettuce and celery the shopping list.

  5. Get your body moving with your daggy dance moves to all your favourite Christmas songs. Don’t overthink it, feel into the cheerful and joyful atmosphere and keep your body moving!
